Healthfirst believes a Primary Care Provider (PCP) is integral to the delivery of high
quality healthcare to our members. The PCP is the member's initial and most important
point of contact. The duties and responsibilities of the PCP are outlined in the provider's contract, the provider manual, and restated during phone interviews and on-site orientation/education sessions.

Your PCP will help you by coordinating all your care. They will work with and consult you on all healthcare decisions. When you or your family member needs to see a specialist, have some medical testing done or need to be admitted to a hospital, your PCP can assist you in finding a qualified specialist and/or hospital within our network. Be sure to become acquainted with your PCP as she/he is a valuable resource in ensuring that you stay healthy.
