NFL Star Donovan McNabb visits Healthfirst

Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Donovan McNabb, along with his parents, visited Healthfirst on June 17, 2008, to discuss high blood pressure and its impact on health. Ten years ago, McNabb's parents, Sam and Wilma, were diagnosed with hypertension, a condition prevalent in both their families. Now, the McNabbs have teamed up with Novartis Pharmaceuticals to educate America on managing high blood pressure.

The Novartis partnership provided an educational opportunity for Healthfirst employees, especially our clinical staff, to learn new membership outreach and relationship building methods for our members already struggling with hypertension. Those in attendance had the opportunity to ask the McNabb's questions. Some inquiries included: how to improve one's diet during the holidays, how to set an example for older family members and ways they have changed their lifestyle.

The audience received an encouraging invitation to monitor blood pressure by logging onto www.BPSuccessZone.com. BP Success Zone is an educational program customized to help individuals effectively manage their condition. It provides helpful tips such as ways to eat healthier and suggestions to improve one's lifestyle.

The McNabb family spoke to over 50 Healthfirst employees. At the end of the presentation three lucky people were selected from a raffle and received Donovan McNabb autographed footballs.
